BACK TO BACK CHAMPS!

The Staples boys basketball team walked into Mahoney Arena last night with a target on its back and walked out with another trophy.

For the second year in a row, Staples defeated the Ridgefield Tigers in the FCIAC Championship Game to capture the conference title. The Wreckers played with the toughness and intensity that have defined their 2025–2026 season, finishing the conference tournament unbeaten and improving to 23–0 on the year.

With the FCIAC tournament now complete, the Wreckers turn their focus to the next challenge, looking to carry that momentum into the CIAC State Tournament and continue what has already been one of the most dominant seasons in program history.

Congratulations to Sam Clachko, who was named FCIAC Tournament MVP, and Mason Tobias, who earned a spot on the FCIAC All-Tournament Team.
